Hello world!

The Western Engineering Competition was founded in 1985 and brought together the leading students from across Western Canada to practice and exhibit their problem solving, team-building, and communication skills in seven different events.

UBC’s Okanagan Campus is proud to host the 31st annual competition that continues to bring over 250 students from 13 different Universities, making WEC the largest engineering competition in Canada.

The theme for WEC 2016 is “Breaking Boundaries.” As students graduate and enter the work force they will be contributing their talents and intelligence to society and our hope is that they remember to keep an open mind, break boundaries, and surpass what we think is possible. We would like to incorporate this theme into our competitions and remind all who attend to break their own boundaries by meeting new people, expressing innovative ideas, and working to grow as individuals.
