What is WEC?

WEC is Canada’s largest engineering competition for undergrad engineering students. This competition brings together the minds of future engineers for a chance for them to go head to head and test their engineering skills in team building, communication, and problem solving. All the competitions are judged by industry personnel whose feet the competitors are trying to fill.

The first event of this kind was held in 1985 at the University of British Columbia and has been running annually ever since. UBC Okanagan is proud to be able to host WEC for the 31st time which is now bringing together students from 13 different universities across western Canada.
WEC is made up of 7 different competitions which test the skills of the future generation of engineers.

WEC 2016 will be taking place on January 13 – 17 in Kelowna, British Columbia at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort & Conference Centre. For information about hospitality and the hotel please contact Michael Schaad at info@wec2016.ca.
